Dogs are treated a lot differently by South Africans than they are in America. So when Vusi, a Zulu boy, comes across a dog with three legs, there is not much of a chance that it will live. But Vusi keeps the dog a secret, training it to be the best hunter, better than all of the other dogs. When his sisters accidently spill his secret to his parents, Vusi has to prove that his dog deserves to live, or face certain death.
